The real wait

This series seeks to pay homage to a teacher and icon of art worldwide and his famous work "The Ladies of Avignon". Created between 1906 and 1907, Pablo Picasso shows us five women from Barcelona and he does it in a way never seen before: he does it in the cubist style. What I didn't know was that it would change art forever... It turns out to be such an interesting piece because in reality the movement did not exist yet, in fact cubism and avant-garde art in general began because of the earthquake caused by this work.
Sofía Balut Páez, from an early age, felt deep concern for art and great admiration for the aforementioned artist. What led her to investigate different techniques to finally focus on cubism today.
In 2019, the interpretation of the young artist begins to sprout with character and personality. She individually illustrates each of the female characters in her mother work “Mis senoritas de Avignon”, where you can see the five women together in the same composition. Subsequently, in 2020 and 2021 she continues with the production of her "Señoritas de ella" adding a total of more than 15 works in this series.
Faithful to a particular style and rarely seen, she delights us with her
paintings full of femininity and elegance. In every stroke she makes evident her passion for art as much as for cubism.
